Growing label adds one more to their expanding roster
SaySomethingHugeonFire, the brainchild of Braun (The Oxford Farm Report, Jar) Dabney, has signed with Little Heart Records. The act, which describes their mix of folk, punk, rock and alt-country as ‘Skronkity!’, will be recording this summer with plans for a 2010 release of their debut.
“It’s funny,” says label founder Bryan Puckett, “this all started with Braun and I recording some demos of him playing songs acoustic for no real reason accept to put them down. A lot of it was stuff he had been sitting on for a while. We’d play them for people and they’d all seem to really like it. Next thing you know, Braun had a whole band and we were hammering out tee shirt ideas.”
Joined by drummer Brian Shank (formerly of Red Letter Days and the New York punkabilly act The Shirley Temples) the Louisville based 3-piece’s ‘fly-by-the-seat-of-their-pants’ attitude has already grabbed the attention of several local promoters. Their DIY work ethic and brazen personalities keep Little Heart on their toes.
“Seriously, SaySomethingHugeonFire will either be the greatest band on our roster– or the death of us,” says Puckett with tongue firmly pressed in cheek.
SaySomethingHugeonFire will be appearing with Crime in Stereo, The Swellers and This Time Next Year later this month. While the band only plans on regional and local touring at this time, expect more in the coming months.
