Site Updates – March 2024

Look at this ugly crap from 2006

Shit, this site is almost 20 years old. I got crowdkilled at the last show I went to by a kid that wasn’t born yet when this thing originally launched. Anyway…. a few updates. If you’ve been to the site before, you’ve probably noticed that the look is a little different than it was for most of the last decade. It’s finally been updated to be mobile friendly and get some newer design elements. No one gives a shit about CSS here but there was quite a bit of overhaul, with more happening incrementally. Not quite continuous integration, but just getting some cleanup and decent PHP linting was good enough for this site for now.

Walk Alone releases new s/t EP

Before you head out to the LDB Fest, make sure to check out this new release from Walk Alone. Reforming after a nearly 12 year absence for the LDB pre-show, Walk Alone is hitting 2024 hard with a newly recorded 6 song blast barely topping 8 minutes. Guitarist Keith Lucius let it be known that tracks 1,2, and 4 are all new songs, with the balance being re-recorded versions of songs from the 2012 demo. The Return of PissedOn – now with a new venue

Local grinders Pissed On are back in action after a multi-year break. Thanks to No Comply, they’ll be busting some eardrums at a new venue opening up at the corner of 12th and Oak St. No word on a venue name yet but you can show up on March 8th at 1231 W Oak Street and find out for yourself. Not sure if anything will be ready for the show, but there may be some skate ramps around the spot, so bring your boards and $10 and check it out.

In anticipation of the show, Pissed On have also released a few new tracks on their Bandcamp – H.A.M.F. ’24 and Insides Outside. Give em a listen below:

New Knocked Loose album announced

Knocked Loose and Pure Noise Records have announced a new full-length record. Entitled ‘You Won’t Go Before You’re Supposed To’, the new record will have 10 pummeling tracks, which you can preview at the Bandcamp link below or watching the new video for the first single from the album: ‘Blinding Faith’. The full album will be released just after Derby on May 10th.

Belushi Speed Ball knows your favorite color and your favorite food

Belushi has released not only a new music video for their new single ‘My Favorite Color Is Pizza‘ but they’ve announced their next full length title ‘Stellkira‘. But you know what you want what you really really want? It’s ‘My Favorite Color Is Pizza‘ playing through an actual slice of pizza! Never slacking in the creativity department, the band has actual pieces of pizza (Detroit -or- New York style) encased in epoxy that will play the new song.
