I definitely should have posted this before, but when you only update 2-3 times a month, things get lost in the shuffle. Anyway, THIS FRIDAY (9.26.08) will see the record release shows for Lucky Pineapple’s “The Bubble Has Burst in Sky City” CD. What? Shows? Yeah, a free show at Ear X-Tacy and then a show at Glassworks all in the same night.
Attention! Noise Pollution has released Minnow‘s debut record entitled “13 Wrongs”. You will go and pick this up. You will put it into your CD listening device. You will press play. You have been told.

Mountain Asleep just had their last show with Jeremy. And you unfortunately probably missed it. I’m sure Jeremy will be missed as well. I’d tell you who’s going to be playing in his place, but I forgot to ask.
You also missed me playing in my underwear Saturday night (Brother Doubt/Morning Augment/Nixon) and sexually harassing the audience (mostly Tony Ash… sorry man). For all of those people saying that they really, really like Nixon, shame on you for not showing up (again). That stuff is still thumbs up, and you are thumbs down.
Thumbs up to Skull Alley for being voted the #2 screenprinter in the LEO Reader’s Choice Awards. And thumbs also to Lucky Pineapple who were #2 for Best Band or something along those lines.
This site also placed #3 for Best Local Music Blog, and tied (I guess) #3 for Best Local Website. No idea how the hell that happened, do we all get consolation prizes from BBC for this?

Straight A’s will make their Louisville debut with an all ages show this Saturday, August 9th at Skull Alley. Since forming in early April of 2008, Straight A’s have developed a distinctive sound that is simultaneously more straightforward and yet more offbeat than anything in it’s members’ collective résumés. The new band includes Nathan Smallwood (Red Sun) on bass, Duncan Cherry (Head Above Water) on guitar, Andrew Padon (Kangaroo) on vocals and Sean Roberts (The Ever Constant Sea) on drum duties. The show is headlined by the energetic Chicago-based post-rock outfit Bear Claw, and featuring locals Plows and Fork in Socket.
Doors at 7:30 P.M. with music shortly after. Cover is $5.
